About shooting on your wedding day
Thailand is full of lots of cool places to take photographs in and almost certainly couples choose the most scenic places possible for their wedding. We’re very much aware that photography is more about the couple and the people that they love.
We like to make sure that our couples are relaxed with us. After all, we’re going to spend quite a bit of time with you on your wedding day, so it’s important to us that you feel comfortable around us, so that when it comes to the wedding, you feel absolutely at ease that there are people with cameras present.
We talk quite a bit to you before the day and make sure that we go through all your concerns – what kind of photographs you would like, the settings and backdrops and the degree of formality/informality that you’d like to capture. We need to be thoroughly familiar with the ceremony and what will happen and when. After all, we don’t want to miss out on any great shots.
One of our main aims is that you really enjoy the photography aspect of your wedding and that it’s all part of the fun.
At the wedding, we ensure we have back-up equipment but we don’t bring a ton of gear with us; we’ve seen too many weddings were the photographers seem to bring their entire studio with them. We don’t want your venue to be spoiled by having lots of boxes, bags and cases lying around.
Because we’re highly experienced, we know what shots will work out best. This means we’re not intrusive, taking hundreds of shots that won’t get used. We home in on what we sense is going to make great viewing. It also means the shots look natural; they don’t look as if they have been staged or forced in any way. We aim for everything to be cinema quality and with the same look and feel.
Of course, unlike the cinema, the couple don’t have the chance to do retakes. So it’s really important for everything to be as natural as possible. Your wedding day is one that is filled with emotions; our aim is to capture the happiness, laughter and the sheer romance of such a unique day.
Weddings are great environments for shooting but because they’re usually outdoors we have to be able to work in varying lighting conditions. And we come well-prepared for sudden changes in the light – it’s no worry if we have to shoot in a sudden cloud or extremely bright sun. or both!
